Notice of Nomination for Office

Notice is hereby given to the municipal electors of the Municipality of South Bruce

Nominations in the Municipality of South Bruce for the offices of:

* Mayor – One (1) Elected At-Large

* Councillors - Two (2) Mildmay-Carrick Ward

* Councillors - Two (2) Teeswater-Culross Ward

* Councillors - Two (2) Elected At-Large

May be made by completing and filing in the office of the clerk, nominations on the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for the head of council and $100.00 for all other offices. The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque, money order or debit.

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours between May 1, 2026, and August 20, 2026, and between 9 am and 2 pm on August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day). Nominations for positions on Municipal Council must also be endorsed by at least 25 persons (endorsement of Nomination Form 2)

In the event there are an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened for the vacant positions only on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm and such additional nominations, if required, may be filed in the office of the Clerk.

Nomination of School Board Trustees*

Bluewater District School Board

One (1) to be elected to represent the Municipality of South Bruce and the Municipality of Brockton

Nomination forms to be filed on the prescribed form and accompanied by the filing fee, ($100.00) cash, cheque or money order, at the Clerk’s office of the Municipality of Brockton, 100 Scott Street, Walkerton, On., May 1 to August 20, 2026, during regular working hours and then on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board

One (1) to be elected to represent the Municipality of South Bruce

Nomination forms to be filed on the prescribed form and accompanied by the filing fee, ($100.00) cash, certified cheque or money order, at the Clerk’s office of the Municipality of South Bruce, 21 Gordon Street East, Teeswater, On., May 1 to August 20, 2026, during regular working hours and then on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence

One (1) to be elected to represent the geographic area # 1, being the Counties of Bruce, Grey, Huron, Lambton and Perth.

Nomination forms to be filed on the prescribed form and accompanied by the filing fee, ($100.00) cash, certified cheque or money order, at the Clerk’s office of the City of Sarnia, 255 Christina Street North, Sarnia, On., May 1 to August 20, 2026, during regular working hours and then on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Conseil Scolaire Viamonde

One (1) to be elected to represent secteur 5, being the counties of Bruce, Dufferin, Grey and Simcoe.

Nomination forms to be filed on the prescribed form and accompanied by the filing fee, ($100.00) cash, certified cheque or money order, at the legislative and court services department on the 1st floor of the Barrie City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Barrie, on., May 1 to August 20, 2026, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday and then on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

*for the purpose of the school boards, if the distance between the residence of a person seeking nomination and the office of the school board election Clerk with whom nominations must be filed is greater than 100 kilometres, the designated Clerk may delegate responsibility to receive nominations; however, the designated Clerk must certify the nominations.

Electors are hereby given notice that if a greater number of candidates are certified than are required to fill the said offices, internet and telephone voting will take place from Monday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. additional information pertaining to the municipal election and

Le Conseil scolaire catholique Providence  

(French Language Separate School Board)

Un (1) à élire – représentant les régions combinées à l’intérieur des Comtés de Lambton, Huron, et Bruce.

Chaque nomination doit être dûment signée par le candidat et classée par le candidat ou un agent entre la période de l’année débutant le vendredi 1 mai 8h30 et 16h30 et finissant le vendredi 21 août 2026 (Journée des nominations) entre 9h et 14h. Un honoraire prescrit au montant de cent dollars ($100.00) doit accompagner le formulaire. Les règlements provinciaux requiert que l’honoraire soit en argent comptant, chèque certifié ou un mandat. Les chèques personnels ne peuvent être acceptés. Le formulaire du candidat doit être approuvé par le Greffier afin que la personne nominée devienne un candidat certifié pour le poste qu’il a été nommé. 

Les nominations peuvent être classées au bureau du Greffier de Sarnia au C.P. 3018, 255 Rue North Christina Rue, Sarnia, Ontario, N7T 7N2 ou à votre demande, au bureau municipal de votre municipalité si la distance entre votre résidence et le bureau municipal de Sarnia est au-delà de cent (100) kilomètres.
