Notice of Virtual Public Town Hall: Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling (BASWR) Service Review

Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling (BASWR) invites residents to participate in the upcoming Virtual Public Town Hall, facilitated by KPMG Canada, as part of their ongoing service review. The public meeting is a chance to learn more about the proposed re-designed governance model for BASWR

About BASWR

BASWR performs all recycling collection services in South Bruce. BASWR is a not-for-profit organization which was established through an area-wide partnership and remains possible through the co-operative spirit of its member municipalities.

About the Service Review

In collaboration with its member municipalities BASWR is reviewing how waste and recycling services are delivered and governed to help ensure they remain effective, sustainable, and responsive to community needs.

As part of this initiative, BASWR is exploring a new governance model and undertaking a comprehensive business case study to evaluate service delivery, financial considerations, operational best practices, and opportunities for improvement. The study is being supported by municipal staff and external consultants and will help inform future decision-making by participating municipal councils.

The Virtual Public Town Hall

This session is part of the ongoing public consultation process to gather resident feedback on the governance and operating model for BASWR. The Town Hall will be focused on proposed changes in the governance structure of BASWR, and not on the operations or service delivery of the organization.
