Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival and dismissal will take place at the community centres, unless communicated by the Recreation Programmer or Camp Staff.
As part of our safe arrival and dismissal procedure, parents or guardians must sign their child in and out of camp and ensure a counsellor has been addressed.
Pick up persons will be asked to show photo identification when picking up participants. Persons identified on registration form as an approved pick-up person or emergency contact will be able to pick up participants. Written notice must be given in advance if there are any changes to pick up.
If your child is going to be absent from program, late or needs to leave early parents/guardians must contact staff directly by calling/texting the camp phone (519-531-0186) to leave a message or speak with a summer camp counsellor.
Drop Off: 8:00AM-9:00AM
Pick Up: 4:30PM-5:30PM
Campers are to be dropped off and picked up within the time frames above. Early drop offs will not be accepted. Late pick-ups increase our staff costs: therefore an administration fee of $5.00 for every 5 minutes will be charged. This fee must be paid prior to your child attended their next scheduled day.
If a participant has not arrived to camp by 9:30 am and prior notice of their absence has not been received, the Supervisor or Recreation Programmer will call the child’s home and/or the parent’s place of work or emergency contacts to determine the participants absence.

Program Ready
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, campers attending Municipality of South Bruce campers should be “program ready.” This helps staff provide a positive environment and ensures every child can participate confidently in daily activities.
Participants are ready for program if:
-
Can follow instructions from a staff member and take part in planned activities.
-
Can manage daily routines (e.g., using the washroom) without a parent or guardian present.
-
Feels comfortable interacting with other children in a group environment.
-
Able to interact and participate in the program in a way that is safe for themselves and others.
Campers who are not ready for the program may be withdrawn at the discretion of supervisory staff to maintain a safe and positive experience for everyone.
If you are unsure of the level of support required for your child, or if your child may be in need of extra support while attending camp, please reach out to recreation@southbruce.ca before registration opens. We encourage ongoing communication and collaboration with parents and guardians!
