Recyclable items

Our landfills have designated areas for you to drop off your materials so they can be recycled. This includes all recyclables also accepted through our curbside garbage and recycling pickup. The following is a list of materials which are not part of our curbside pick up recycling service but are accepted at our landfills.

Accepted Items for Landfill Recycling

Our sites work with other organizations to help recycle and dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly way. This helps to divert waste from filling up our landfills.

There is a dedicated area to dispose of clean bale wrap (white ONLY), twine, silage bags & bunker covers (each type must be separated and brought to the landfill in collection bags) for a fee, at the Teeswater-Culross landfill only.

Collection bags can be picked up at the landfill site. It is very important that these materials are free of debris and are kept as clean as possible.

We work with a service provider to divert this material from our landfills for recycling.

You can dispose of your asphalt shingles for a tipping fee at the Teeswater-Culross landfill only. Please make sure you segregate these materials.

You can drop off your gently used clothing and general household textiles to one of the Canadian Diabetes Association donation bins located at both of our landfill sites for free.
